I have noticed that I often enter a reflective state of mind when travelling (especially commuting). As I look around me, I speculate as to what other people are experiencing. When we spend time in a car, a train or an airplane the mind finds space to run away into distant thoughts.
Much of my current work is interested in the commonplace, the ordinary, the banal. It explores this ‘reflective state of mind’ (both my own and in those I see around me) through photography, painting, drawing and moving image.
